If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I hurt, and that I’m ready to be home again. We should make it home today sometime, but I’m not sure when I’ll stop hurting. This morning we’d be sitting in the Hampton Inn as the rest of the family snoozes a few more minutes, drinking there coffee, juice, tea, what have you, before we head back out on the road. I’ve just got to be careful not to drink too much, considering that we’ll be on the road and all.
It feels like we’ve been on the road for forever. Leaving Thursday after work to head towards Palmerton Pennsylvania, we made it as far as Richmond Virginia. Then the next day, we continued, hitting all kinds of traffic and pushing what should have been 5 to 6 hours to more like 8. But we made it. Then we ate and slept, got up early, and ran the Spartan Super at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort Saturday. (That’s where all the hurt came in.) Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – Palmerton”→
Just what's lacking?
That I'm forgetting.
Once again through the list,
Maybe spot what I've missed.
And off we go down the road,
The packing story all told.
All that we've got,
And all that we lack.
Must last the weekend,
And bring us back.
Couldn’t help but put this up. As I was packing this morning, it ran through my head, and then of course, I forgot most of it. I think that it all came back in the end though.
Well, I suppose that it has been a while. Bit all the same, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you to drag up a chair, maybe order up a coffee or tea or whatever kind of concoction you would like since we would be hanging out in the Barnes & Noble Cafe. The fine folks here can hook you right up!
What a weekend! If we were having coffee, we would have lots to talk about. So grab a cup out of that fresh brewed pot on the counter and sit back. I’ll turn on a bit of music. Anything you feel like lstening to tonight?
There we are. So, the weekend went well. We made our first trip to Daytona Beach and even though we didn’t spend much time on the beach itself, it was cool. What we did do was wake up early Saturday, drive to Bunnell, and race the Spartan Super there. It was our first race in Florida and it went really well, with both my daughter and I finishing the course of about nine miles and 27 or so obstacles in 2 hours, 2 minutes, and some seconds. She edged me out by about 20 seconds at the end of the day with a great running effort on her part. I thought that it was really cool that we finished so close in time, considering we started about an hour apart. I am so proud of her and the hard work she has put in to get to where she is now and the potential she still has for her future in the sport.Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare 5-14-2017”→
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you all about my recent trip to New Orleans and all the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells that came along with it. It was a good time, and an experience that I will never forget. Hopefully the future holds another trip to the Big Easy, where I can take my time and do some exploring. This visit was quick, one night, passing through on a work trip.
