#WeekendCoffeeShare – Busy, Sleepy Weekend

If we were having coffee, we would have football on the tube and a nice fresh pot of coffee in the kitchen.  Won’t you help yourself to some?  It’s time to freshen mine up, so I can show you the way.  If coffee’s not your thing, we have tea, milk, and of course water.

Hopefully, you’ve had a good weekend.  We have, but it’s been a busy one starting Thursday at work.  It was a long day (and night) leaving too little sleep for Friday, but Friday came anyway.  After work Friday, we went to singing at church, then once home I was wide awake and though sleep would have been wiser, it was guitar time.  I’ve been trying to learn 3am by Matchbox Twenty, and this led to too little sleep for Saturday.  Saturday, I was up at 7am, to get the bikes ready for my daughter and I to go ride for a few hours before the wife and I went to a local college football game.  Home team lost.  Once home, I stayed up too late watching more football and slept a little too little for work on Sunday.  The hour rollback helped with that though. #weekendcoffeeshare – Still at Work

If we were having coffee, we would surely be talking about the past couple weeks and all the work that’s been going on around here. And maybe even my absence from the blog. Sorry bout that, but it was expected.

It feels good to check in now though, even if it is a lame attempt, typed out on my phone between tasks.  Which is the reason you won’t see me on the link-up (hosted so graciously by Nerd in the Brain)this week or the link to it at the bottom of this post.

So, my week?  Not much to tell unfortunately. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. That’s really it. I know, it’s kinda depressing.

Anyway, that’s enough about me and my not so exciting work life. How have you been?  I hope all has gone well for everyone this week. Perhaps you’ve been up to your eyeballs busy too, but I hope not. That’s no fun after all.

I guess I’ll let you go then, and as always, please do take the cup with you. That way you can swing on by next week and we’ll filler’up again. Til then…

#weekendcoffeeshare 5-1-2016

If we were having coffee, I’d ask if you knew where the last four months went. Seriously, it’s May already. In amongst our conversation of how fast time flies by, I would be sipping on a hot black coffee from a paper cup, because it’s just that kind of day. I’ll be glad to fix you some coffee if you’d like, anyway you want of course, or maybe you’re more in the mood for tea?

Ah yes, there you go. I don’t know about you, but even as I lament the quick passage of time over the past four months, I’m wishing this day would hurry on by. Not that today is bad or anything, but I’m so tired.

You see, Friday night we went out to the movies to see that new Huntsman movie. It was way better than the first Huntsman by the way. Probably because of the lack of one certain actress who also played in Twilight, but I’m not here to bash on anyone, so I’ll move along.

We got home late, and in the bed later. With plans already laid out for Saturday, I knew this was bad, but what ya gonna do?  After four hours of sleep, my daughter and I was in the truck and on the road, off to play in the woods.

We had so much fun on the bikes, that it was easy to not worry about the three hour drive home, until it was time to drive home.

Two stops at Starbucks, one for hot coffee and one for cold, along the way got me through.  And it was all worth it! Now if I could just get some sleep.

I’ll not do that until tonight though. I’ve still got some stuff to do today, but let me tell ya, I’ll be doing some real sleeping tonight.

Hope you guys have a great week, and that it doesn’t fly by too fast. Maybe we’ll have a chance to slow down, maybe even stop and sniff some flowers or something. Thanks for stopping by. God bless!
