#WeekendCoffeeShare – Less than Motivated

If we were having coffee, I’d offer you a nice hot cup of Seattle’s Best, fresh brewed right here.  I’ll take mine black and strong, but I’ve got some milk if you would like, and for sweetness, we have local honey.  I may just doctor up a second cup with milk and honey in a few, just to see what all the fuss is about.  We also have tea, and the always good water if you would prefer that.

For music tonight, we have Alanis Morissette singing her moody tunes not too loud to interfere with good conversation.  I always liked her music, except for that last album we bought, but I can’t remember its name.  Regardless, she put out multiple albums that I can sing-a-long to. The fact that her music moved away from me at some point, is immaterial. Good is good is good. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – Less than Motivated”

#WeekendCoffeeShare – Running Behind, but Running All The Same

cappuccino on table

If we were having coffee, I’d say that I didn’t really know what to say.  Then I’d offer you a nice cup ‘o joe and we could laze about, sipping coffee and talking about things.  Of course, if coffee is not your thing, I could offer you some tea, milk, or water.  We drink mostly water here, but there are occasions where other things are drank.  Other things like coffee, which is consumed daily, at least when I’m around.

I’ve spent the last two weeks in NC.  The first was vacation, the second was work.  The two trips were about as opposite as they could have been.  The first was in the mountains, while the second was on the coast, and of’course there is the difference of fun versus work.  Not that all the work was bad, it just wasn’t vacation.

#WeekendCoffeeShare – Nothing to See Here

If we were having coffee, we’d be sitting right here at home, sipping some Seattle’s Best, listening to Smashing Pumpkins, and thinking that it would be a really good idea to just head off to bed.  In any case, we have some coffee in the pot, water in the spigot, and some tea bags that can be steeped in said water so we’re all set!

If feels like last week was a busy one, but looking back on it, I’m not real sure why.  There was work, but that was about it.  I got a few miles in, but not that many, and so on and so forth.  It was a good week, but nothing that should have been too tiring until possibly Saturday morning when I got up at 3:30 am to head into work early with plans on leaving early in return.  That worked out, but not without paying for it a bit.  Early mornings normally bring on tired nights and this one was no exception.  By the time we hit out 7:25 movie time (Skyscraper), I was yawning all over the place but managed to stay awake for the movie.  Afterwards though, it was off to bed for a good ten hours! #WeekendCoffeeShare – I’m Awake

cappuccino on table

If we were having coffee, I’d say good morning, or is it good day by 11?  Either way, I’m just crawling out of bed here on a beautiful Saturday.  Today, we have coffee, fresh brewed Seattle’s Best, Stoked Iced Coffee, green tea if that’s your thing, and of course water.  I’ll be sipping the Seattle’s Best and probably putting another pot on since I’ve powered through this first one already!

It was my intent to have coffee with you last night, but after dinner I didn’t feel the best and was so tired, so after fighting it long enough to watch some World Cup in which I was falling asleep during, I gave in and went to bed.  Twelve hours later, I’m awake again, drinking coffee, listening to Alanis sing while writing, and I feel all the better for the rest.  Going to bed last night was a bit frustrating since the nighttime is normally my time to write or play, but I had a busy week and I suppose it finally caught up with me. #WeekendCoffeeShare – Big Weekend Plans

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that there’s just something about writing in a coffee house!  It’s not something that I get to do often as there’s none really close to where I live, so I take advantage when I can.

This evening, we’re at Starbucks, so go ahead and place your order, my treat!  I’m trying one of the Starbucks Reserve Coffees fresh from that Clover machine and listening to a bit of Miranda Lambert, but not loud enough to drown out the coffee shop sounds.  So settle in, enjoy the smells and the light bustle that fills the shop, and relax a bit.   Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – Big Weekend Plans”

#WeekendCoffeeShare – Missed Last Week

If we were having coffee, I would apologize for missing last week. I think I’ll just sip some instant coffee (it’s not bad) today while we talk. I can get you a cup. It only takes a couple of minutes for the water to boil in the microwave after all. The same goes for tea if you would prefer that.

#WeekendCoffeeShare – So, so tired…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how tired I really am right now.  Then, I’d offer you a cup of this fine (not really) hotel coffee.  That’s all I really have right now, other than water.  It’s good water though.  So for that, I apologize.  There’s got to be a coffee shop around here somewhere, but again, tired.  And that bed is right there and, well, you know.

We ran a Spartan Super today, and let me tell you, there was some suffering going on out there.  Out weather has been mild lately, but today was nothing but hot.  Mid 90’s and humid turned what looked to be a good race into a struggle.

All was good, not great, at the 5 mile mark.  By the sixth mile the cramps came on hard, and they didn’t quit.  Not even after the race was done at about 8.5 miles.  You could say that it was a tale of two races.  There for a while, I thought that I would have a great, maybe my best, race ever despite not feeling my running legs early.  Then the last bit, when it all fell apart.

Since the race ended, I’ve hydrated like a madman.  We race again tomorrow after all, and it would be nice to do it without the cramps.  I’m not confident.  Tomorrow’s race is a Sprint so it won’t be as long.  So that’s good.  It should come in somewhere between 3 to 5 miles, and if I’m lucky, cramp free.

I do appreciate you stopping by!  But unfortunately, I’m going to put my head on that pillow over there, so I’ll see you next week if not before.  Have a great week everyone!
