If we were having coffee, I’d say “Happy Friday to ya,” and we could sit around, sipping hot beverages and expounding on how great it is that the weekend is here. Tonight, I’m having a little bit of apple cider since I’ve already had quite a bit of coffee today, but no worries, I can hook you right up with a cup. Only takes a couple of minutes to brew a pot and we’ll be in business. There are other things as well. Hot cocoa, tea, and what-have-you. I’m sure we can come up with something.
Music from the Gin Blossoms is playing as we sip our drinks, Super Girl is playing now. It’s a live album and it’s on random, so who knows what’s next. If we don’t like it, we’ll skip ahead.
If we were having coffee on this last evening of January, I’d be having hot chocolate. It’s a nasty day out, cold and rainy, and I’m happy that you could stop by for a chat and get out of all that mess for a bit.
Can I get you a coffee, hot chocolate, or perhaps some hot apple cider. With this weather, I’m pretty sure something hot is the way to go. Once we get the drinks all sorted, we can listen to the rain fall on the roof and be thankful for blankets, warm beverages, and heat pumps.
If we were having coffee, we would be sipping some fresh brewed Starbucks Christmas Blend and relaxing with a little Jimmy Buffet on this nice Friday night. There’s also a bit of tea if you’d rather that and we could break out the Nilla Wafers for a snack if you’d like.
How is that Nilla Wafer? It had been forever since I had one of those not in banana pudding, but there’s a series of books I’m reading (The Joe Ledger series of novels by Jonathan Maberry) and one of the main characters has a thing for Nilla Wafers and after four books, I had to have some. They are good. I can see why Mr. Church likes them so much. I always did say that the best part of banana pudding was the cookies anyway, so I don’t guess I should be surprised.
If we were having coffee, it would be iced coffee I got from the grocery this week as it’s already late and a whole pot of coffee would be overkill at this point. Yes it’s Friday night, and yes, I’ll be in the bed shortly. So I won’t be ODing on coffee tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
If we were having coffee, I’d wish you a Merry Christmas or even a very generic Happy Holidays if you prefer while sipping some hot apple cider instead of my usual brew. I can brew up some coffee or tea for you if you’d like, or I could nuke some cider for you like I have for myself. It’s a good drink when the weather’s cold like it is now. I’m no fan of the cold, but I do like a good sipping hot beverage!
It’s been a mixed week for me. Monday kicked off and kicked my butt. I got some sort of sinus bug or some such that had me feeling puny until Wednesday, so there was a sipping of a different kind the first part of the week. Dayquil sipping is what I’m talking about. Not exactly a great start to the week.
If we were having coffee, I’d say that I’ve probably had enough coffee for the day, but I think I can sip on another cup or two with you since you stopped by. And thanks for stopping by! You are, of course, always welcome, and you know I can always hook you up with a caffeine boost in the form of a hot brewed coffee. Coffee not your thing, we can probably find something to suit you.
“It’s you! I’m your biggest fan. I’ve read all your thesis’s and theories. Brilliant! If you wouldn’t mind…”
“Sorry son, didn’t see you there.” Professor Land removed his glasses and rubbed his tired eyes, before looking the lad, a ball of barely contained energy, up and down. “I was quite lost in an enchanted forest when you found me, and want very much to return.”
The boy stood stunned and wide-eyed, not knowing how to react. At once, pleased to be acknowledged and miffed at being dismissed.
“Take a card and see me tomorrow. Office hours are on there. Goodnight.”
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how happy I am that Dorian blew on by without too much heartache and hardship to the home-front and the surrounding areas. We would have the Saturday night college football game on, LSU at Texas, and be sipping some fresh brewed Eight O’Clock coffee. Coffee not your thing? We can probably scrounge up some tea or something to suit you, so sit back, relax, and let’s chat.
If we were having cofffee, we wouild have just left Starbucks and piled back into the car on the way home from the mountains. So this afternoon, we’re in close quarters, but don’t worry I put my deoderant on this morning and besides, the coffee aroma is strong with us!
We were just losing the station, so I scanned the FM a bit and found a Rock station playing Smashing Pumpkins. That should hold us on music for a while.
If we were having coffee, we would be sipping some nice cold brew as it’s been a warm weekend, and it just seems right. There’s some music playing, right now it’s a live version of ‘Round Here’ from Counting Crows, and it’s getting really close to beddy-bye time.
Since it’s a little late, and I’m tired, I’ll be quick.
