#WeekendCoffeeShare – Spartan Down

cappuccino on tableIf we were having coffee, I’d be icing my calf and drinking some iced coffee to boot!  Why not?  One ice goes with the other, but if you would prefer, we can put on a pot or maybe make some tea.  Now that we all have drinks, let’s talk.

It was a big weekend in the Spartan world.  The North American Championship Race was held in West Virginia, and we were there!  But the weekend was a mix of good and bad.  First, the good.  The West Virginia race venue is awesome.  The race atmosphere of it all and seeing most of the top pros in person, and in my daughter’s place, racing against them, was great.  The bad was the way my race ended.  Halfway (about 8 miles) through the race at the darn hard slip wall, I sprinted hard to gain enough momentum to carry me to the short rope near the top of the wall.  As soon as my foot hit the wall, my calf knotted up and my leg quit.  I hoped that it was a cramp and would go away, but after about 20 minutes laying in the grass, limping around, and hoping for improvement, it became evident my day was done. #DSFWeeklyRewind – Not Running Sucks

img_20171021_130604_6521629058270.jpgFirst things first.  I would like to thank Tara over at DaisySmilyFace.com for hosting the linkup that seems to be taking the place of the MIA #WeekendCoffeeShare.  Also, I would like to wish her well and a speedy recovery as she recovers from her break.  It was my intention to join in last week, but I injured myself (more on that later) and just didn’t feel like doing anything.

With all that said, how are you all doing out there?  Hopefully well.  I’ve been okay, with the exception of having to learn to walk all over again.  It seems that I’ve torn a calf muscle, and so I’m limping all over the place now.  This does not make me happy at all, and I’ll tell you why.
