If we were having coffee, I would be having cider instead. Tonight is my first hot apple cider since around the new year, so it’s been awhile. It is cold and rainy out. Perhaps that put me in the mood. I can get you a cup if you’d like, but I can fire up the coffee pot as well if you want to keep it traditional.
The week was busy, so it’s nice to sit and relax a bit. I’m listening to Counting Crows. Adam is singing “Raining in Baltimore” at the moment. It’s fitting because it’s raining here as well. There is a line in the song (“these train conversations, passing me by and I don’t have nothing to say”) that reminds me of the photo prompt from this weeks Friday Fictioneers. My little 100 word story had nothing to do with that line, or the song for that matter, but I can’t help but think of the photo with that line. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – Cider Time”→
If we were having coffee, I’d offer you a cup of some not so fresh coffee that’s hanging out in the kitchen. I brewed it a few hours ago, so it’s not the freshest, but it’s still good and it’s plenty hot. There’s also milk and water or a tea bag or two around if you would rather go that way.
I started last week off pretty good as far as writing goes. I spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday writing on lunch break at work, then coming home and doing a little more with it. Well, Monday and Tuesday had some at home work, it was Wednesday that I fell off the wagon, but it wasn’t totally my fault. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – A Good Start”→
It’s not often I get a day in. A day to relax, write, play the ole guitar, and let my introvert flag fly high. Inside… where no one can see it.
Today has been that day. It was nasty this morning, so I got a decent workout in, took the trash off, put on a pot of coffee, and settled in. Oh, coffee. That was rude of me. There’s a pot there in the kitchen, freshly brewed and ready to drink. If coffee’s not your thing, there’s tea, water, or milk. Help yourself!
Now that we’ve got Thanksgiving behind us, I guess it’s time to look forward to Christmas. Christmas already! It’s hard to believe. There is a local radio station that has been playing Christmas music for weeks now, and I just don’t understand it. That should be saved to at least the week before, but I suppose there’s a market for it. I don’t get it, but anyway. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – A Day In”→
If we were having coffee, I’d offer you a cup from the freshly brewed pot just there in the kitchen, and warn you not to get too close. My throat started hurting last night, and even though I’ve medicated throughout the day, it’s still hurting. So, grab some coffee or something more to your liking, but don’t get too close.
If we were having coffee, I would apologize for the venue just before apologizing for standing you up on our coffee date last week. We find ourselves in yet another hotel lobby this evening, but the coffee is pretty good. (At least it’s hot.) It was the best I could do. All the coffee shops within walking distance closed early, except Dunkin of which I am not a fan. So here we are. Go ahead and grab a cup and I’ll refresh mine. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare -Back to Writing, but Not Running.”→
If we were having, I would be drinking Stok (Pronounced stoke as it’s written with a line over the o) cold brew with milk. It’s good stuff. I get the black unsweetened variety and add stuff or not. Either way, good stuff! Help yourself to a cup, and doctor it up if you like.
Hopefully you all had a great week! Mine was pretty good as we inched back toward normalcy. We still have a little way to go, as there are many in the area that have been affected by flooding. Not us, but there is some rough places not far from us and some roads still effected by water. All the roads should be clear by mid-week and we will be that much closer to normal.
