If we were having coffee, I’d be drinking some hot apple cider instead. It’s good stuff. Can I get you some or would you prefer to stick with the traditional coffee? Both are great options, so definitely suit yourself.
We’ve got the UFC fights on, just the prelims though, cause who can afford to pay for the mains. Not me, and I’m not really interested in going out all night to watch the fights in a crowded bar. Every now and then that’s fine, but it’s not something I look to do very often. And since ESPN has the UFC now, I seem to hear so much less about what’s going on in the fight world. It, for me at least, has gotten lost among all the other sports ESPN has. The good news is that I don’t really miss it anyway. A few preliminary fights every month or so and I’m good.
If we were having coffee, I think I’d opt for some hot apple cider. It’s good stuff on a cold, rainy evening, and I’ve already had a pot and a half of coffee today. I can get you some coffee, tea, or of course some cider if you like. It’s up to you.
It’s been a rough few weeks for me, and I can’t put my finger on exactly why. Best guess, the time change. I haven’t felt like myself since. It’s like I have no motivation to do anything. I’ve barely run, tried to recommit to daily writing but have felt too exhausted in the evenings to make any real headway. It’s been frustrating to say the least. I’m not a person to look forward to bed at 8 o’clock, but that’s been me lately. Some evenings I’ve looked for bed earlier than that!
So I’ve written what I could while trying to keep my eyes open. It hasn’t been a ton of words though. A few 100 word stories for #FridayFictioneers and a sheet full of ideas. Not much, but I’m still plugging away, hoping that I’ll feel like myself again soon.
I’m hoping that this next week will go better. I’m really looking for some good miles and some good words in the coming weeks.
Thanks for stopping by! See you in a bit!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
If we were having coffee, we would be watching NFL playoff football and drinking some nice Seattle’s Best Breakfast Blend. Never mind that it’s nowhere near breakfast. I’ve also got a few different teas and some apple cider if that’s more your thing. What can I get you?
I’d tell you that it was a pretty good week as far as writing goes, with words being written almost every day. Friday is typically an off day for writing, as it tends to be busy at work and lots of times a night out for dinner or a movie. I’ve been writing during lunch at work, then coming home and trying to get a little more done at some point in the evening. With all the rain we’ve been having, there’s little else to do anyway. If we were having coffee, I would be having hot apple cider. It’s good stuff. If you would like, I can get you a cup. Of course, I can put some coffee on, or heat some water for tea. Whatever you like. Make yourself comfortable, relax, and watch a little football.
This week has been great! I’ve been off, so that’s always good, and we’ve got Christmas behind us. Christmas is great and all, but man, it can be work. So now, we can look forward to the new year. 2019!
If we were having coffee, I’d be having cider. Yes, again this week. To be fair, I’ve been drinking coffee all day, so maybe it’s time for a change. The pot is there, ready to brew the morning’s coffee and can be turned on if you’d like.
The fights are on TV. From all the talk, this may be the last UFC card on Fox. Since I don’t keep close track of all that, I Googled and found that the UFC is moving over to ESPN. Maybe it’s a good thing, maybe not. I’ll wait and see. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – UFC Moving?”→
If we were having coffee, I would be having cider instead. Tonight is my first hot apple cider since around the new year, so it’s been awhile. It is cold and rainy out. Perhaps that put me in the mood. I can get you a cup if you’d like, but I can fire up the coffee pot as well if you want to keep it traditional.
The week was busy, so it’s nice to sit and relax a bit. I’m listening to Counting Crows. Adam is singing “Raining in Baltimore” at the moment. It’s fitting because it’s raining here as well. There is a line in the song (“these train conversations, passing me by and I don’t have nothing to say”) that reminds me of the photo prompt from this weeks Friday Fictioneers. My little 100 word story had nothing to do with that line, or the song for that matter, but I can’t help but think of the photo with that line. Continue reading “#WeekendCoffeeShare – Cider Time”→
