If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I fell off the writing wagon, then I would forestall any questions you had until you decided on a beverage to sip while we talked. Tonight, I’m having cinnamon spiced tea. It is very good, and I can get a cup for you. There is of course coffee and water around too. What would you like?
Now that we’re settled in with drinks and Jimmy Buffett playing for us, “A Pirate Looks at 40” right now, we can talk.

If we were having coffee, I’d offer you a cup of this nice fresh brewed Seattle’s Best that I’m sipping tonight. It’s good coffee. Is it the best Seattle has to offer? Maybe, maybe not. That probably depends greatly on who you ask, but I think it will do nicely for us tonight. If coffee’s not for you, I’d offer up some tea or perhaps some water. Almond milk? I don’t know, but we’ll find something for you.
Now that we’re all settled, let’s talk about the week gone by. It was a pretty good one, if not as productive as I would have liked.
On the positive side, I’m starting to get my wind back as far as running. Since my calf healed well enough to start running again, I’ve been slowly upping my mileage. Saturday was my longest run since coming back, yielding 7 miles on a cloudy Saturday afternoon. It was great!

If we were having coffee, I’d say I’ve been gone too long. I hope that you are doing well. It’s good that we can sit down and have a chat.
It was May of 2016 that I posted my last #weekendcoffeeshare. That was when I pretty well quit blogging and writing all at the same time. Well, maybe not quit. Let’s just say that it was time for a break.

I’m pretty excited. Long have I looked from a distance at so many other’s pretty, shiny, WordPress sites and longed for one of my very own. I rationalized against making the leap from Blogger to WordPress for so long, and then I just couldn’t take it any longer. I broke down, set up a free site at WordPress.com and fell in love with the interface and customization.
Before I knew it, I was stepping up my account to Premium. The thing that had held me back for so long, I was putting behind me. So far, it’s great.
Still, I’m new with WordPress, and there is so much to I have yet to learn. It seems that things are friendly here though, so I think I’ll be able to get it and do all the things here that I have been dreaming about.
What are those things?
Well, there’s a couple.
- Blog more regularly. A set day to make a post to the blog. Tuesday seems like the best day for this. Of course, there may be more. A random post over coffee or tea would be nice once a week too. Just a little something to ramble on about the week and how the week’s writing and such are going. A #coffeeshare, if you will. I did a #coffeeshare the other day on my old blog while at Starbucks and it was a lot of fun!
- Post some short stories. At least one a month. It seems as though I’m always writing a short story here and there, even when working on longer works. Some of those will appear right here.
- At the end of every year, it might be a good idea to put all of the short stories from the year into a collection and make them available to the public. To have something out there would be s0 exciting.
That’s all for now. I’ve got some writing to do before bed, but I’ll be back. I hope you will be too . Thanks for stopping by!
