First things first. I would like to thank Tara over at DaisySmilyFace.com for hosting the linkup that seems to be taking the place of the MIA #WeekendCoffeeShare. Also, I would like to wish her well and a speedy recovery as she recovers from her break. It was my intention to join in last week, but I injured myself (more on that later) and just didn’t feel like doing anything.
With all that said, how are you all doing out there? Hopefully well. I’ve been okay, with the exception of having to learn to walk all over again. It seems that I’ve torn a calf muscle, and so I’m limping all over the place now. This does not make me happy at all, and I’ll tell you why.
If we were having coffee, I’d say how sorry I am that I’ve been so absent for so long. Then, I would offer you up some of this nice, strong 8 O’Clock coffee that I’m drinking. Coffee not your thing? I’m sure that we can rustle something up.
There, isn’t that nice? Now that we’re all settled, let’s talk a bit.
Honestly, I’m not sure where the time goes. Only that it keeps on slippin’ away. I, like you, try as hard as possible to make the most of every minute, but so often when looking back on a week, I find myself disappointed. I see the things that I wanted to, intended to, meant to do, that for whatever reason, just did not get done, and it frustrates the daylights out of me.
And still we run.
Why do it?
We say it's fun.
Though it's hot,
And oft we complain.
We always come back,
Is that sane?
You tell me,
Cause I don't know.
Trails and roads,
Off we go.
Though one day I'll be on the shelf,
As for now, the miles won't run themselves.
Here I am,
Running the park.
There I go,
Funning 'til dairk.
Been a rough day.
Left along the way.
I can't do it.
Just can't explain.
The release happens,
Inside my brain.
It's not bad,
You really should try.
You probably won't die.
If we were having coffee, Master Chef Junior would have just gone off and now we would be watching Gotham. Both good shows in their own right. Different, but good. So, grab a cup and fill it with either coffee or tea, sit back, and let’s see what the young Batman is up to.
This week didn’t go quite as planned as far as training was concerned. Things were going quite well to begin with, but toward the end of the week, it kind of fell apart. The funny thing is, I’m not sure what even happened.
All I know is that after the movie (Alien: Covenant), I came home and went to bed just like all was well. Then I woke up. That’s normally a good thing, you know, the waking up, and it still is. Always good to wake up. The problem that morning is that I woke up with a bad pain on the inside of my leg on the morning that I had planned a long run.
If we were having coffee, I’d hope you like it strong. Tonight, I’m sipping a brew called Seattle’s Best and listening to a little Jimmy Buffett. Ahhhh, life is good, if you like your coffee strong that is. If not, we can add some water or milk or maybe just find you something altogether different. It’s up to you. Anyway, it’s good to be able to relax and talk a little. There hasn’t been a whole lot of that going on lately.
The past week is behind us now, and though I’m not one to wish my time away, I’m glad to let that one go so that we can welcome in this new week with all the optimism we can muster. Last week wasn’t a bad one really, it was just a little busier than I would have liked. Even so, those busy things weren’t that bad either, it’s just that with everything going on, there was next to no time or Continue reading “#weekendcoffeeshare 4-30-2017”→
