It was  May of 2016 that I posted my last #weekendcoffeeshare.  That was when I pretty well quit blogging and writing all at the same time.  Well, maybe not quit.  Let’s just say that it was time for a break.

Making Marks

It’s the little things we so often take for granted. Those little things add up to big things over time though.

With that in mind, I sat a couple hours last night marking on a big sheet of paper with several different tools that we probably take for granted on any given day. Eight different pencils, conte crayons, charcoal, ball point pen, and dip pens.

Learning to Draw (better)

We can all, I believe, improve.  Even those who have achieved mastery at one art or another will tell you that there is always room to improve.  That’s why I’m relearning the basics of drawing.  Not that I ever came close to mastering them in the first place.

The plan is to work through this book, revisiting some old techniques and learning new ones along the way, ultimately becoming a better artist.  I’ll be posting some of my work along the way.  (try not to laugh too much)  It will take some time, but if all goes well, it will be worth the investment.
