#WeekendCoffeeShare – 2020/04/12

If we were having coffee, you may think that it’s a little late to sitting and sipping this fine Seattle’s Best, and you may have a point. I could make a case for heading off to bed as well as the clock closes in on the witching hour, but I’ve been AWOL for the past few weeks and wanted to check in. There is a lot going on out there in the big ole world right now, most notably and disruptively is the Corona-virus, and that plays in on why I’ve been absent, but let’s come back to that.

So here we are, just before midnight with coffee and music playing soft in the background. Counting Crows with God of Ocean Tides is on right now, and I’ll tell you that that is an awesome song. You may have to overlook my poor singing while it’s on. I just love the lyrics too much not to sing a long a little!

You may ask where I’ve been, and how the current pandemic has played into my absence, and I would be forced to give you a more boring answer than you may want. As I’ve mentioned here before, we don’t have the best internet where we live. It’s functional, but there are bandwidth limitations. This is normally not a huge deal for blogging and the little what-nots that I do online, but since the Corona has shutdown all the schools and there are two people living here that have an actual need for the faster data available for school stuff, I’ve stayed off. I’m on tonight because we have used up the anytime data, so I’m not hurting anything. It resets in a couple days though, so I’ll be banned again. Aghhh! And as for cell data, sometimes I can make that work, but it’s spotty at best, so…

I can’t even go to the Starbucks and use their web access!

So yes, I’ve been inconvenienced by the Corona-virus, but that’s all. Hopefully that’s all it has been to you as well. I would love to see this thing pack its bags and go away forever, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

On the plus side, I’ve had lots of time to workout and run with everything shut down. I don’t go to a gym, so those closures didn’t hurt me like it did so many others. Nowadays when I get home from work, (Yes I’m still working. One of the lucky ones, I guess.) I head out for a run or hit a little workout in the backyard. It’s a bit cliche, but it does make you appreciate the little things.

I hope everyone is coping with everything well out there. There are so many ways this virus is affecting so many of us. Hopefully you are well and keeping a positive attitude until this thing turns around. I fear we will feel the repurcusions of all this for a while yet, whether businesses are allowed to re-open or not. Some may not be able to re-open even when they are given the go-ahead and that’s super sad too.

I suppose I’ll let you go now that it’s well after midnight. Good luck going to sleep with all that caffeine in your system though. We don’t do decaf around here.

Until I can see you again, stay safe and stay well.

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.

    1. Thanks! I’m coping well, I just don’t have the internet access that I’m used to so I’ve missed some posts that I normally do and reading others post can be tough. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon and I can be more sociable and stuff in the blogosphere.
