If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that things are getting crazy around here. I’d have to do it at a distance of course, because all I know is that I need to wash my hands and keep my distance. You probably should too!
So it’s probably a good thing that this weekend share is a virtual thing after all. Sigh…
I’ll admit to being a bit nonchalant about the whole Coronavirus thing at first. I mean compared with the flu, the COVID-19 numbers don’t look so bad, so can you blame me really? I wouldn’t blame you. Maybe the reason for the all out panic, besides the fact that the media is absolutely loving this and maybe even intentionally causing the panic, is that this is a completely new thing that we just don’t know how to fight.
I will tell you though, that if this is the new normal after the virus where people actually use hygiene and go out in crowds less, it’s not really that bad of a thing. I’ve been practicing these things for years and really, it’s not that bad. I’ve actually wondered for years how people could do some of the things they do without washing either before or after depending on the event. I don’t think I’ll go into the events I’m talking about.
Things are a bit more real now that we have a coronavirus case within an easy drive of where I sit at this moment. We’ve got schools shutting down, grocery stores with empty shelves, and no toilet paper to be found anywhere! Who would have thought the hot item in this version of the apocalyse would be toilet paper? Now I’m left to wonder how much worse it will get before things turn around. I’m hoping and praying that the world can make the turn quick.
Until then, wash your hands. (Do you find it apalling that we have people on tv telling the public to wash there hands? Here I just thought that was common sense.) Stay away from crowds and run like crazy if someone coughs or sneezes around you. Oh, and if you find someplace that has toilet paper, don’t buy all of it regardless of the temptation. Other people need that stuff too.
It truly is a crazy time we live in, and even if we don’t ever get back to “normal,” hopefully we can leave behind the life of fear.
I appreciate you stopping by in these times of non-socializing, and I understand you feeling like you need to go somewhere and be alone. I can feel that too. So until next time, stay well, my friends!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I donβt do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
Thank you for a beautiful Coffee Share. I agree that I as well have been preparing for the Coronavirus happening with my anti-social ways. I won’t deny that I’m not afraid but I’m trying very hard not to be. Coffee shares are a wonderful way for virtual friends to not feel alone. I’m thankful for this time to socialize with you and everyone else. π I’m also hoping and praying that things in the world will make a quick, positive turnaround. Be safe, My Friend and thank you again so much for the wonderful Coffee Share. π

Thanks for the virtual coffee. I think the whole coronavirus crisis is mostly about people going crazy with panic. I do hope things turn around soon.

Maybe might even get more people reading my blog too instead of going stir crazy at quarentine
Thanks for the coffee

Hey Russell, Sorry for the delay in circling back to visit those who posted after me, but, as you pointed out, things are nuts out there. Our whole county went into corona lockdown last night.
And yes, I agree that the media is likely stirring this pot to keep everyone as worked up as possible.
Oh, and do I sense a possible political agenda to their coverage . . . ?
Say it ain’t so.
Continue to be the adult in your area. We need more like you running around.
Blessings.

Oh, no worries Gary. I haven’t made my normal rounds either for a couple of reasons. First is that we have sattelite internet and therefore data limits at home and since school is canceled/online due to the virus, I’ve got a couple of people who need that data more than me. Our cell coverage is iffy at best (working off a single dot right now) at home, so that slows me down too. Second, is work is super busy right now and I’ve putting in extended hours. It’s going to be a rough few weeks I think.
Thanks for visiting Gary! I’ll stop by if I can get this dot to stick around. See you soon!
