#WeekendCoffeeShare – 2019/11/16

If we were having coffee, I think I’d opt for some hot apple cider. It’s good stuff on a cold, rainy evening, and I’ve already had a pot and a half of coffee today. I can get you some coffee, tea, or of course some cider if you like. It’s up to you.

It’s been a rough few weeks for me, and I can’t put my finger on exactly why. Best guess, the time change. I haven’t felt like myself since. It’s like I have no motivation to do anything. I’ve barely run, tried to recommit to daily writing but have felt too exhausted in the evenings to make any real headway. It’s been frustrating to say the least. I’m not a person to look forward to bed at 8 o’clock, but that’s been me lately. Some evenings I’ve looked for bed earlier than that!

So I’ve written what I could while trying to keep my eyes open. It hasn’t been a ton of words though. A few 100 word stories for #FridayFictioneers and a sheet full of ideas. Not much, but I’m still plugging away, hoping that I’ll feel like myself again soon.

I’m hoping that this next week will go better. I’m really looking for some good miles and some good words in the coming weeks.

Thanks for stopping by! See you in a bit!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.

Post your own #WeekendCoffeeShare here!

    1. Absolutely, I love writing flash and can sometimes see larger themes that could be developed from them. Unfortunately I, like you have had little time (or in my case energy) to pursue them. Hopefully that will change soon for us both. Good luck!

  1. Hey Russel. Sorry to hear about the generalized state of fatigue that has you. You most likely know the drill to begin the crawl out of this. Check your health, diet and distractions. If you’re getting ill, your lack of energy may actually be a clue your doctor would understand. Lots can be wrong with your diet and again an MD may be needed to sort it out, but recall that our bodies change over the years and what was fine for us a year ago may no longer be. If you are fretting about something, you may just need a good thoughtful friend you trust and do a dump on that person then carefully listen as they come back. Their questions or ideas may flip anything that is drilling into your soul.

I hope you get around this quickly. You already know life with this state of mind/body is harsh.

    Blessings.

      1. I managed to draw something and I wrote, I think, a total of 54 words in Nimble Writer.

I think the harder part is that I keep looking at what inspires other people, but I need to find what inspires me. I wish I had a good tactic for narrowing that down!

    1. I’ve got notebooks, documents on the phone, and a bunch of half baked ideas both hand written and typed here and there. They all seemed like good ideas at the time, but most of the time, they didn’t get finished.

I feel like if I were to go back through some of those ideas, I could maybe finish them now (do them justice), but maybe it’s best they stay put and we forge ahead with new material. I just don’t know. Like you said, narrowing down would be great…and then actually finishing would be even better!
