If we were having coffee, I’d say that I’ve probably had enough coffee for the day, but I think I can sip on another cup or two with you since you stopped by. And thanks for stopping by! You are, of course, always welcome, and you know I can always hook you up with a caffeine boost in the form of a hot brewed coffee. Coffee not your thing, we can probably find something to suit you.
We’ve got a ballgame on the tv. Florida at Kentucky tonight. It’s been a good game. We’re in the 4th quarter and the winner is still in question. I do love a good college football game, and waste so much time in this season of the year. So much to the point that I sometimes get angry with myself. So, I’m trying to multitask more, getting writing done or practicing the guitar while watching.
The past week of writing has been the best I’ve had in some time with time put toward brainstorming and writing task at least four separate evenings. It feels good to be writing somewhat regularly again! Hopefully that pattern can continue!
I finished reading “Beyond the Gate” by David Farland and started “Doctor Sleep,” the sequel to “The Shining” both by Stephen King. It’s good so far, but it’s early. I do expect it to be good though, as I haven’t been disappointed by a King book yet. “The Lies of Locke Lamora” by Scott Lynch is my current Audible listen. It’s been really good! I’m not sure if there’s a sequel, but if there is, I’m sure to be picking that up too.
Today’s six mile run was the longest of the past two weeks which have been a struggle on the mileage front. The legs have been tight lately, and I’ve been a little scared to put too many miles on them and risk injury. And so, the confidence I’ve felt lately about the upcoming half marathon has waned a bit. There is still a little over a month to go though, so maybe it’ll be alright.
And it looks like that’s the ballgame as Kentucky misses the go-ahead field goal with under a minute to go. All Florida has to do now is run the clock out. An anti-climatic ending, but it was a good game up to that point, so I can’t complain.
So glad you could stop by for the end of the game! Be sure to come back again next week and we can sip on something, and maybe watch another game!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
You can add your own Coffee Share here.

Always good to hear from you, even though I’m clueless about football. I do know that following college games avoids the whole NFL taking a knee controversy, but even that is mostly blown over I think. Not sure. I’d have to ask someone who pays attention to it.
Thinking of your running; it is sounding good and I doubt you need anyone else reminding you to be careful. You were not a happy guy after the last injury and, darn it, we just don’t heal as fast as we used to.
I inherited my father’s bad knees (which kept him from going pro-football) and constant weight challenges from my mom, so running hasn’t been a practical option for me for years. I kinda miss the days when I could run, but there are lots of ways to mentally enjoy the world that fill that void.
So cheers my friend. Thanks for the visit.

I suppose the college game does avoid the pro football drama, and yes, most of that has blown over I think. For my part, I prefer the college game, pretty well always have and probably always will. Not saying I want have a pro game on, but it’s more background noise than anything to me.
Hate that your knees are bad and you can’t run anymore. I know there are other things to fill the void since I wasn’t always a runner, but now i have a hard time considering what I’d do without it. It’s probably something I’ll have to consider at one time or another, but I’ll put that off for as long as possible.
Thanks for stopping by Gary!
That sounds like a pretty good week 🙂 I hope the rest of your weekend was enjoyable. I spent the majority of the weekend without cellphone reception, which can be liberating at times.
