#WeekendCoffeeShare – 8/18/19

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about the little alligator I saw on my run Friday. We’d sip our coffee, Seattle’s Best, fresh brewed with whatever fixings you’d prefer and listen to the tunes flow softly from a random playlist. Right now, it’s Maren Morriss, up next, who knows?

So yeah, the alligator turned out to be the best part of Friday’s run. It was hot and humid, and I was tired, but the week had not allowed for a lot of miles and I really was looking to put in a good effort. What I ended up with was seven and a quarter miles of struggle and some pics of a little gator who had found himself on the road.

A little alligator seen on my run.

It’s my own fault the way the run went. It was the result of bad decisions made all week, and it seemed that they all wanted to gang up on me on Friday. That’s fine. Live and learn and all that. The biggest fault was too much time off of running and they piling miles on top of miles Thursday and Friday. There was also a slight sleep deprivation thing going on, but hey, I’m trying to do a lot of things, so…

I did a little writing over the week and published one short story for Friday Fictioneers in the process. I’ve been absent from that group for a while, but got back for the last two weeks. It feels good to have a little something done every week, even if it is only a hundred words. It’s still something done, and that’s a good feeling. Besides, the Friday Fictioneers group is a good one and they are fun to interact with, so the pleasure there is all mine too.

I’m hoping for more miles and more writing this week. We’ll see how it goes, and I’ll let you know when we next get together for coffee!

Have a great week!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up hosted now by Eclectic Alli that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.

You can share your very own coffee share here!

  1. My running has been very spotty this summer, though I’ve had a good week. I haven’t seen any alligators up here in NH, but I saw a rattlesnake on one of my runs about a month ago. And yes, it rattled at me before i realized what type of snake it was….

    1. Yeah, those rattlers can be scary! I tend to steer clear of most of the trails and tall grasses while running in the summer, but there are a couple well traveled trails I can run. That’s one good thing about winter running I guess.
