#FridayFictioneers – No Fingers, No Play

Old Elroy had two passions in life.  Music and woodwork.  Oh, how he could tickle those ivories, and build the bench to sit on while doing it.

You know, he could have been famous playing that old piano.  We told him to focus, but he would have none of it, being of two minds as he was.

And so, when the tablesaw took his fingers, the music died as well.

You can still see his piano though.  He couldn’t sell it, even though his playing days were done.  Turned it into a planter, he did.

Darndest thing I’ve ever seen.

#FridayFictioneers is a weekly blog link up hosted by Rochelle over at RochelleWisoff.com. You should totally check it out and perhaps try your hand at writing a 100 word story.

Good luck!

  1. Brilliantly done. And my husband used to work in a wood shop and one of the guys lost four fingers in a planer… a sound none of the employees who were there that day will EVER forget…

  2. We have this stupid joke here, guy holds up three fingers and orders five beer for the saw mill workers… we had a cabinet maker in the family and many of his colleagues lost parts of one or more fingers. Nevertheless, this is a cruel fate for the guy, and an excellent story.
