Bobby parked the ‘Drunkmobile’ outside the bar and went. Shivering.
“Just got off, huh,” said the barkeep noticing his clothes. “Must be cold on that thing.”
“That’s what the gin is for. A double please.” Bobby shrugged out of his heavy work-coat and leaned back. “Getting my license and therefore a heater back next week though.”
“Guess you won’t be stopping in after work then, huh?”
“Oh, I don’t know. I’m kinda liking my evening gin.”
“Well, don’t get caught again.”
“No worries. I’ve learned my lesson.” He knocked the gin back. “One more. You know, for the road.”

Good luck!
Been there done that, but glad to say I grew up before I hurt someone. Excellently told.

Thanks Violet! Unfortunately, things like this happen all the time. It’s best when no one gets hurt for sure.

That’s the way it goes. I shudder when I think of what I got up to way back…

Youth seems to make for back decisions. It’s one of the advantages of aging, I think.

Doesn’t sound as if he’s “learned his lesson.” I hope he does before he kills someone. My 23-year-old nephew was the victim of a drunk driver. So young, and all because of a stupid decision.

That is so sad Linda. Unfortunately, there are so many who continue making bad decisions way past the time the should’ve learned better.
