If we were having coffee, we would be drinking some fresh brewed Seattle’s Best coffee and listening to Jimmy Buffett. Tonight’s set is getting going with ‘A Pirate Looks at 40.’ Jimmy and I both have put that one astern and that’s alright. Beats the alternative they say.
I’m glad it’s Friday and that I’ll be sleeping in a little in the morning. The ole throat started hurting a bit Thursday (sinuses I think) and it’s still bothering me a bit. Last night, I found the bed at 6, and slept close to 12 hours. Tonight has already lasted longer than last night, part of that is because of Friday, and part is because I hate going to bed early. Especially on a Friday night with no work on the morrow.
It’s been a mostly good week. I managed a fair amount of writing and reading, getting at least a little of both done on the daily. The story is progressing well and I’m fully into ‘Red Delicious,’ the second book in the Siobhan Quinn series by Caitlin R. Kiernan. The Quinn books are different from my normal read, but they are edgy, fun, and very, well, different. There’s all manner of vampires, demons, and whatnot in there, told first person by a narrator that doesn’t mind addressing the audience. If you don’t mind some foul language, I recommend it. If you do, I suggest you avoid it.
My current Audible listen is ‘Fire and Blood’ by George R. R. Martin. It is not what I expected. I can only recommend this if you are a great Game of Thrones fan and want to know the history behind it. Because that’s what this is. Some guy reading a history book that details the events leading up to ‘Song of Ice and Fire.’ It is informative, but it’s no ‘Game of Thrones’ novel.
What I’ve not done this week hardly at all, is play guitar. That is what tonight holds I think, if wakefulness can be obtained. To be honest, the bed is calling. No writing except the coffee share tonight I fear. Perhaps a bit of bedtime reading though.
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you next week!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
