“Best sandwiches this side of the state. No, the country. Maybe the world.”
“Really?”
“Yep. It’s the bread… That’s right, the bread. Fresh baked every morning, it makes the sandwich.”
“Bread does not make a sandwich.”
“No. And yes. Anybody can stuff fillers between two pieces of bread. Everyone has the same fillers off the same truck. The bread is the difference. People show up for the bread.”
“You are passionate about this bread.”
“Just wait, and you’ll see. Here it is now.”
“Place looks closed.”
“No way! What happened?!”
“Don’t know. Maybe they quit making dough.”

Good luck!
That sucks big time! Nothing worse than when you work yourself up to going to a favourite place only to find out it’s closed! Waaahhhh!
Good one, Russell!

Ha, very good pay off Russell. It does remind me of some of those childhood favourites that have long gone, you wish could just come back one last time!

Thanks Iain! Seems like everything now is chain restaurants, and while I do enjoy many of them, the mom and pop places seem to suffer because of them. And so often, it’s the mom and pop shops that have the best stuff.

An half-baked pun; you must be so proud. And for the record, I reckon day-old bread tastes better.
