If we were having coffee, we would be enjoying a little iced coffee as we creep ever so close to having to head off to bed so as to not struggle all day tomorrow. As a matter of fact, many people tell me that I’m crazy to drink coffee this late, but it has never effected my sleep, so I’ll keep on keeping on, I think. If the caffeine will keep you up, we can probably find something a little less stimulating.
We are listening to some music, not playing loud enough to interrupt the conversation, but loud enough to hear. Right now, Alanis is asking if we are still mad? I’m not, but I can appreciate her asking.
I finished listening to “Pet Sematary” on my way to the movies Monday. We saw “Cold Pursuit,” and it was good. It was pretty funny and lots of people died, but in a kind of funny way. You could say that it was the opposite of “Pet Sematary” which wasn’t funny at all. People died though, just not in funny ways.
Before the movie, there was a preview for the upcoming “Pet Sematary” movie. I’ll see it, but, and I hate this, I already have my doubts. From what I can tell from previews and what I remember from the original movie, the original is closer to the book. Maybe I’m wrong. Either way, it looks creepy and I want to see it.
I also finished “The Slow Regard of Silent Things” by Patrick Rothfuss. I enjoyed this book. It was full of whimsy and was very different from anything you’ve ever read. A word of warning though, if you’ve not read the two books in “The Kingkiller Chronicles,” don’t even go there. I’m not saying anything Rothfuss doesn’t say himself. This book is all about one very different character in those books, and I fear that if you don’t already know and love her, you just wouldn’t “get” the book.
I did a fair amount of writing to start the week. None over the weekend though, as we traveled to Jacksonville for the Spartan Race there. My daughter raced and did great. I’m still not running, and so did not race. It was tough being there and not participating, but perhaps that’s the new normal. (sob : ((
Anyway, it was warm there, and that was nice. We had a good time and safe travels and that’s the best thing. Now it’s time to go back to work. (more sobs, lol.)
Guess I’ll be heading off to bed soon, besides I’m kinda rambling on. As one does. Feel free to take a cup of something with you. Hope you all have great weeks! See you next week.
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
