If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that it’s been a long week and that I’m so happy that it’s the weekend. We would be here, listening to music, (a playlist on my phone that’s playing Round Here by the Counting Crows right now) and sipping fresh brewed coffee. It feels good to relax for a day or two. I’m thinking we have this whole work week thing backwards, working five days and off two. Who came up with that? Oh well, I’ll sip my coffee and be thankful for the downtime that never seems to last long enough.
Wow, I feel like I’m rambling already. Most rude of me. Perhaps it’s because my writing this week has been nonexistent. The long days at work, and the cold weather (not Chicago cold, thank goodness!) had me feeling tired and unmotivated. I hate that feeling. There were a couple of nights I fell into bed around 8 o’clock to read a bit, only to fall asleep shortly after going down.
I did finish listening to the “Steamborn” trilogy by Eric Asher. I liked the series, even though it took a little bit for me to get into. The first book was a little slow to get going I felt, but it did get going and the second and third books did not disappoint.
The next listen is King’s “Pet Sematary.” I want to get through the book before seeing the new movie. I remember the old movie and how creepy it was, but never read the book. It’s been good so far.
I’ve also been reading Iain Kelly’s “A Justified State” on Kindle. My progress there is slow but what I’ve read, I’ve enjoyed.
The writing wasn’t the only thing neglected this week. The guitar sat lonely as well, but I made up for that last night, playing for a couple solid hours. I’ll never be good at guitar, but that’s okay I guess. It’s fun to play around with anyway.
Well, it’s early yet. Maybe tonight I can get some writing done.
How has your week been? Hopefully good! What are you looking forward to in February? Can you believe January is gone already? I can’t.
Thanks for stopping by for coffee! Hope you have a great week!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
Have a great week

We have enjoyed a few days’ break from the Midwest cold snap, during which the dogs got to run around and I got some grocery shopping done before the next weather system moves in.
The music binge sounds fun. My instrument is piano, and I get to it too seldom. I also have been reading a lot, which is nicely restful.
Thank you for your coffee share post. My best wishes for your week!

Thanks Lizl! I think playing piano would be awesome, but I doubt I’ll ever make time to learn that. It looks fun though!
Hope you guys stay warm out there and have a great week!

I don’t think I’ll worry much about you getting going with your writing. You are a machine once you get going. Now, where’s that emoji?
