#WeekendCoffeeShare – 01-20-19

If we were having coffee, I would apologize for not having much to offer.  There is some hotel coffee down in the lobby (that always seems to do in a pinch) and a Starbucks just down the street, so perhaps we will get out in a bit.  You know, if the hotel coffee is unbearable.  I do have some good cold water in the room fridge if that would do you better.

We would be watching the first of today’s football games, the NFC Championship, here in the room while sipping our drinks.

Looking back on the week, I’d say it was a pretty good one.  I did some writing on a thing I hope to make into a book one day, some editing on a thing that should be close to submitting, and posted a 100 work story for #FridayFictioneers on the blog here.  All things considered, a good week.

On a slight downer of a note, I didn’t get as much reading done as I wanted this week.  I thought that I would be done with “The Dark Tower” by the weekend, but it hasn’t happened.  Oh, I made some progress, but I’m not there yet.

There are so many books that I want to read.  We spent some time in a Barnes & Noble yesterday, the first time in a while I just browsed the shelves of a bookstore, and let me tell you, it is an eye opener.  I want the books!  Especially the hardcovers.  But I’m torn between the convenience of e-books and the love of paper.  Paper is better, but electronic is so convenient.

We finally made it to see Bohemian Rhapsody this weekend, and it was great.  I’ve always liked some Queen music, but never knew their story.  If you are even a casual fan, you need to see the movie.  Really, it was great!  We also saw Glass, and it was good too.  Just not as good as Bohemian Rhapsody.

Tomorrow we wrap up our long weekend and head home.  Tuesday it’s back to work and back to a bit of a routine again.  I’m hoping to start getting more running miles in this week.  I’ve been running a little every week, but very little.  Like one to two miles a week.  This week, I would like to put in somewhere in the area of five to six miles.  It’s doable.

I guess I’ll let you go.  Later, we’re going out to eat and maybe watch a little of the second football game of the day.  It’s the more interesting of the two from the perspective of someone who’s not a fan of any of the teams playing.  Hopefully, it will be a good game.

Y’all have a great week!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week.  If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump.  I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.

It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!

  1. Hi Russel. Yea, that is the readers standard question now, Kindle, paperback or hard cover. I have great arguments for each and great downsides for them too. Try to recall how nice it is to have such options because that alone diffuses some of the frustration of deciding.
