If we were having coffee, we would be listening to The Wallflowers while enjoying our beverages of hot and cold. I’d be having cold coffee, hold the ice, with a nice spoonful of honey to add a bit of sweet. The honey is good local stuff I get from a guy at work. It’s sat around long enough that it’s gone solid, so we can scoop out what we want without making a mess. You should try it! You could even put some in hot coffee or tea if you’d prefer that. The honey will most definitely dissolve better in the hot stuff.
It’s that time of year that I would wish you a Merry Christmas. But I could also wish you a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry something else, or just a Happy Holidays if you’d prefer. We do Christmas here, so that’s where my mind goes.
Also a Happy New Year, just in case I miss next weekend’s coffee share.
This is the first Wallflowers album I’ve ever had. Sure, I’ve heard their stuff on the radio in the past, and a few songs recently that prompted the purchase. It’s pretty good stuff.
The writing progressed fairly well this past week. At least the first part of it. There were some missed opportunities and some exhaustion later in the week when I thought I’d write but couldn’t/didn’t. Oh well, we move on. Before moving too far though, I’d mention that I posted my #FridayFictioneers story Boots yesterday.
I’ve made a good bit of progress (for me) in the two books I’m reading and anticipate needing new books before the new year. I’ve never kept track of the books I’ve read over the course of a year, but I think I’ll look into setting a Goodreads goal or something this year. I see others do it, and it seems like a good idea. I’ll set it low since I’m a fairly slow reader and I like big books (and I cannot lie! lol). Anyway, I’m looking forward to book 7 of King’s Dark Tower series and book 3 of Craig Alanson’s Expeditionary Force series.
I am so happy to report that I have the next week off! I plan to write as much as I can, watch some football, have a great Christmas with the family and do some general relaxing. Good times! Then I’ll fret about going back to work, but none of that now. It’s vacation time, woohoo!
Have a great weekend and a Happy/Merry whatever you decide to celebrate next week! I hope to see you back here for coffee again soon!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
I’ve not heard of the Wallflowers so I’m going to have to go and youtube them. Thanks for the book recomendations.Hope you have a very Happy Christmas.

I think The Wallflowers achieved the height of their popularity in the 90s. The lead singer is Bob Dylan’s son, so that’s something, I guess.
Thanks for stopping by Irene!

Listened to someone doing a cover version. The song was good but a lot of the comments said it was Jacob(i think) Dylan not his Dad that was supposed to be singing. I’ll have to look out the genuine article.

Yes, it is definitely Jakob singing. Not Bob. One Headlight is probably their most well known song.

Wow, I didn’t know the Wallflowers were still around. I think of them as being the 90s. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and all of the that 😉

Oh they were in the 90s for sure. The album I got is a collection of songs from 1996 to 2005. Maybe they have some newer stuff, I’m not sure. Merry Christmas Trent!
