#WeekendCoffeeShare – Cider Time

cropped-cappuccino-on-table

If we were having coffee, I would be having cider instead.  Tonight is my first hot apple cider since around the new year, so it’s been awhile.  It is cold and rainy out.  Perhaps that put me in the mood.  I can get you a cup if you’d like, but I can fire up the coffee pot as well if you want to keep it traditional.

The week was busy, so it’s nice to sit and relax a bit.  I’m listening to Counting Crows.  Adam is singing “Raining in Baltimore” at the moment.  It’s fitting because it’s raining here as well.  There is a line in the song (“these train conversations, passing me by and I don’t have nothing to say”) that reminds me of the photo prompt from this weeks Friday Fictioneers.  My little 100 word story had nothing to do with that line, or the song for that matter, but I can’t help but think of the photo with that line.

The past week was another that passed without much writing being done.  Come to think of it, I didn’t do much but work and sleep.  There are those weeks.  This won’t be the last, and I don’t have to like them but it is what it is.  I’m hoping next week will be a little more relaxed and a little more productive on the writing side of things.

We’ve been getting ready for Christmas.  The tree is up, and the shopping is coming along.  I’m not good at shopping.  It’s a good thing I’ve got a wife to help me out with that!  It won’t be long and Christmas will be behind us, and we’ll be staring 2019 dead in the face.  What do you want to get done in the new year?  It’s time to start thinking about that, I guess.

I’ve been listening to Expeditionary Force, Book 1, Columbus Day by Craig Alanson on Audible and it has been a blast.  I’ve found myself laughing out loud on the way home from work day after day.  Who knew that military sci-fi could be so funny.  I’m loving the book and already looking forward to the sequel.

As far as actually reading, I’m in the sixth book of The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.  I could tell you how good the series has been, but you may have noticed that I’m in book six, so that should be testimony enough.

Speaking of those two books, I should probably do a bit of reading tonight, perhaps while laying in bed.  I think I’ll freshen up my cup of cider and play a little guitar before that happens though.  Can I freshen up your cup before you go?

Have a great week!  See you back here for coffee next weekend!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week.  If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump.  I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.

It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
