It’s not often I get a day in. A day to relax, write, play the ole guitar, and let my introvert flag fly high. Inside… where no one can see it.
Today has been that day. It was nasty this morning, so I got a decent workout in, took the trash off, put on a pot of coffee, and settled in. Oh, coffee. That was rude of me. There’s a pot there in the kitchen, freshly brewed and ready to drink. If coffee’s not your thing, there’s tea, water, or milk. Help yourself!
Now that we’ve got Thanksgiving behind us, I guess it’s time to look forward to Christmas. Christmas already! It’s hard to believe. There is a local radio station that has been playing Christmas music for weeks now, and I just don’t understand it. That should be saved to at least the week before, but I suppose there’s a market for it. I don’t get it, but anyway.
So, I’ve drank copious amounts of coffee today, cooked breakfast, ate Thanksgiving leftovers (again), wrote a decent amount, played with the guitars (even plugged up the amp and played loud since I’m here alone), and watched a good bit of college football. If you missed it, Michigan through it away and Alabama is looking unstoppable as ever. (Another Alabama TD as I type this.) In short, it’s been a pretty good day.
Hope all you guys had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was good, but the best part was the pre-Thanksgiving when the wife and I spent the first part of the week hanging out in the mountains before coming home to cook. We did lots of walking, sight-seeing, and just hanging out together. It was great. Now it’s over, and it’s almost time to go back to work. Ugh. I’m probably not the only one having to go back to work though.
So that’s where we are. Looking to go back to work Monday morning, with Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas looming. For the time being, I think I’m going to write a little more while seeing if Auburn can pull out the come-back win, before picking around on the guitar a little more.
