If we were having coffee, we’d be at Starbucks. That’s right, it’s a coffee share on location! I’ve already secured a large, (they call that venti here, but if you say large, like I do, they understand) black coffee, and I can wait while you saunter up to the counter and gather in your heart’s desire.
Now that we’re all settled in, let’s talk.
As bad as it sounds and as much as I hate to do the very thing, I’m wishing this week away, looking forward to next week and the vacation that waits there. It’s going to be great to have a little time off, even if the whole week won’t be relaxing. With Thanksgiving arriving on that Thursday, whatever relaxing that can be managed will come to a crashing halt of cooking and cleaning, followed by eating and more cleaning. Then, more relaxing I hope! It should be a good week.
As for the past week, I did some writing and that’s about it. It was a busy week at work, as this one is bound to be, and the legs didn’t feel like running even if there had been time. I’m hoping to start next week, running a bit more regularly, but we’ll see.
My daughter and I did go to a local trail so that she could run, and so I road the bicycle. It was fun, and good exercise. The bicycle has never been my favorite form of exercise, but it’s good. If I continue the running struggles, I may have to learn to love it. Again, we’ll see.
As for writing, I tried to do a little each night, and succeeded from Sunday to Wednesday. When Thursday rolled around, I was exhausted and went to bed. Friday followed in a similar fashion, and Saturday, there was opportunity, but it slipped into sleepyland as well. Now it’s Sunday again and the hope for a new week is upon us. My plan is to work on writing a bit everyday. I’m not setting word count goals or anything like that, I just want some time to work on the craft of it. Whether that is writing new words or editing old ones, (something I desperately need to do) that’s the goal. Wish me luck!
With that being said, I need to focus a little. I’ve got too many projects going for the amount of time that I can put into them, not to mention the new ideas that pop up every single week. #FridayFictioneers is going to stick around for sure. It is too fun to quit, plus it’s short, and I look forward to it every week. Check out last week’s story Voices here. There is the serial that I started on this site, and it’s maybe gotta go. Sad to say, but I kinda lost my way with that one. I feel that I could find it again, but is it worth it? Then there’s the book ideas, one that I’m really liking. It would have been my nanowrimo project had that been possible to attempt.
I guess I’m saying that there’s lots to think about, and even more to do. I’ll let you know what I come up with, maybe next week. See you then!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
