The Festiva a’ Brellas was Susan’s favorite fest. As a child she attended with her parents, but now she was a woman of age. This year she could try all the colorful drinks she had witnessed her parents partake. The ones with the brellas in ’em.
Dressed in her favorite new gown, colorful as the festival brellas, she stepped with friends into the night. They would dance, sing, and perhaps do some kissing before the night was through.

Stumbling to the toilet, hands clasped over her mouth, she fell to knees vomiting forth the colorful brella drinks.
Colorful no more.

Perhaps this week’s Friday Fictioneers is a cautionary tale.
#FridayFictioneers is a weekly blog link up hosted by Rochelle over at RochelleWisoff.com. You should totally check it out and perhaps try your hand at writing a 100 word story.
Good luck!
Lovely stuff, the vomit the colour of a technicolour rainbow 🌈.
Such a familiar tale, you should never mix your drinks!

Lol, thanks! It’s a lesson that so many at that age, and younger, learn.

Oh dear, it is always them same, or is it. She should have kept to the dancing, but then again she avoided the kissing, which may have been worse. a fun story.

Aww…maybe a little more dancing and a little less brellas would have been a smarter idea, great writing Russell 🙂

It’s a lesson that most of us learn. The hard way! Thanks Iain!

Dear Russell,
Perhaps she’s learned that it’s not all that much fun and colorful vomit isn’t the way to go. Good one.

Thanks Rochelle! And vomiting is never fun, colorful or not, I think.

Ah, no one likes rainbow hurling. Puts the kaibosh on kissing. She will learn.

I call this a rite of passage… some learn quicker than others…

Very true! It can be a painful lesson though, and some have to learn it over and over and over again.

Too true Michael! Things often look good, but turn out bad.
