If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that College Football is back and I’m ready for it. I’m up this morning, drinking my coffee and waiting for kickoff. Won’t you have a cup? There’s a pot of freshly brewed Peet’s Dark Roast just waiting to be poured. We can also get you some tea or iced coffee, but that stuff in the pot is really good. You should give it a shot!
This past week was a long one. Whew! So long in fact that I was in the bed last night around 9 o’clock. I slept so good too. I thought that maybe I would be writing last night, but it just didn’t happen. After about 12 hours of sleep, I’m ready to go again.
The funny thing is that the week shouldn’t have been that tiring. Yeah I worked, but it wasn’t a bad week. There were some early mornings last week, but the evenings didn’t go so long. I think it was the limping about all week that did it. At some point, it just takes a toll on the body.
As far as writing for the week, it was limited to some editing and a 100 word story. The editing was on episode 7 of my serial Warriors, where a new character was introduced, moving away from the storyline of Raelle that was the focus of the first 6 episodes. The 100 word story was for my weekly #FridayFictioneers post.
There was of’course no running this week, but I did a couple of short workouts of pull-ups and push-ups and hope to continue working on my weaknesses while I heal up. Just because I’m hobbled doesn’t mean I should do nothing but sit around. Fitness like writing is a constant journey and to get better, you’ve got to keep pushing forward. That being said, running is my favorite exercise and I get frustrated with so much other stuff when I can’t do it. Hopefully, by this time next week the bicycle will be an option.
It’s time for a another cup I think, and besides, the ice bag is warming up. Time to put it back in the freezer. Will you have another cup? If you would like one to go, we can make that happen too. Thanks for stopping by and chatting for a bit. I hope things are going well for you and your team wins, unless they are playing against mine of’course. See you all next week!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
Between football starting and baseball ending my family room reverberates with explicitives. I am planning on library time.

Library time sounds peaceful, but I’m willing to trade some of that peacefulness for some good ole slobber knocking football!

Ha – love the image of home full of sports related expletives. Not that I would want it in my home, but the image is very entertaining. Hey Russell, I hope that leg is healing up fine, if not fast. I’m not a sports guy so my value is limited to eating up the chips & dip and perhaps emptying up to 2 bottles of craft beer. Wen the game was over, we could freshen our cups or grab fresh cold beers and talk writing. That I can get plenty rowdy over. Hope you stop my my share for this week. I had a wild but productive one. All the best bro!

Thanks Gary! It seems that the refreshments are often just as if not more important than the games themselves, so don’t feel bad eating the chips! And no worries, I’ll be by the share in a bit, I’m just watching a little evening football right now!

“Fitness like writing is a constant journey and to get better, you’ve got to keep pushing forward.” Nicely worded. Hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks for the coffee.

Before I die, I’d like to understand the game of football. I get basic idea, the but all the calls and flags totally lose me. The whistle blows, everyone is in a pile and I’m left wondering what the heck just happened. LOL Maybe someday. Thanks for the coffee and I hope your leg is healing well.

Oh, it’s not that confusing… Okay, maybe playing it a bit in elementary and high school makes a difference.
Thanks for stopping!
