If we were having coffee, I’d offer you a nice hot cup of Seattle’s Best, fresh brewed right here. I’ll take mine black and strong, but I’ve got some milk if you would like, and for sweetness, we have local honey. I may just doctor up a second cup with milk and honey in a few, just to see what all the fuss is about. We also have tea, and the always good water if you would prefer that.
For music tonight, we have Alanis Morissette singing her moody tunes not too loud to interfere with good conversation. I always liked her music, except for that last album we bought, but I can’t remember its name. Regardless, she put out multiple albums that I can sing-a-long to. The fact that her music moved away from me at some point, is immaterial. Good is good is good.
I think the reason I was drawn to her music in the first place was the emotion you hear as she sings. Her music comes from some deep, often pained place, or seems to anyway. Perhaps it says something about me that I go for that type of sound. Nirvana, Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, Miranda Lambert. I’m not saying that I can’t enjoy a song that is just a song, sung by someone who is just singing the words, but those who write and sing from the heart get my first vote every time. (Not saying that all these artist wrote every song they ever sang, but most wrote a bunch and sounded as if they meant every word of the song as it tore out of their vocal chords)
I had a slow week of writing this week. It seems that that should not have been, since running was pretty well absent the whole week. Writing time should have been all over the place, but honestly, I just could not find the motivation to do it. (much) I worked on my serial, Warriors, a bit and posted and episode and a #FridayFictioneers. That’s about it.
Wednesday marked the first ever time I have visited a chiropractor. He confirmed what I expected. My hamstring has pulled my hip out of place, and now it hurts. So we started massaging and making adjustments. And making me really sore. I’ve been twice and will run tomorrow to see how things are responding. Hopefully things will be good and I can take a good report back next week.
It’s time for me to get another cup of coffee, so I guess I should let you go. I’m glad you stopped by! See you again next week!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that serves as something of a mind-dump for the week. If there are typos and what-not found here, I apologize, but mind-dump. I don’t do a lot of editing here as I like that it is more a stream of consciousness type post, normally written while drinking coffee, listening to music, and reflecting on the week gone by.
It is hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
Wishing you all the best with your hip! Mine has started to hurt just a little, the first time since my replacement in February. Hoping it’s nothing major.. Thanks for the coffee!
