#WeekendCoffeeShare – Watching the Fights

cappuccino on table

If we were having coffee, I may just have to pass tonight.  Not because my love of coffee has waned (on the contrary), but because I’ve already drank about two pots today.  At some point tonight, I’m going to need to sleep, so perhaps I should abstain until then.  The coffee pot is at the ready however, so feel free to help yourself, and as always, we have tea and water.

We can watch the fights as we talk.  The UFC is on, and maybe there will be some good fights tonight.  I used to keep up with the UFC.  We would go out and watch the pay-per-views, making a night of it with friends.  It was a good time, but now I mostly just watch the free ones that come on TV.  I’m not sure why we quit going out to watch the fights.  Maybe I’m just getting old, or maybe I just got tired of spending the money that could have been better used elsewhere.  Who knows?

We thought about going to the movie tonight, but that didn’t work out.  My wife wants to see “A Quiet Place.”  Perhaps next week.

On the running front, I’m so happy that I’m feeling better now.  I had a lot of issues there for a while, with my calves.  They were so tight that it was painful to run and when you have signed up for a year full of running races, that’s not good.  I never would have thought that all that pain was because of my choice of footwear.  Shoes it seems, are very important.  The wrong shoes can lead to injury, so take care when picking your shoes.  I am now running in a pair of Hoka One One Mach’s.  They are my first pair of Hokas, and so far they’ve been great.  Great means not tight calves when running or after.

As far as writing goes, I’ve continued my streak of writing everyday since the last day of April.  I had several good writing days this week and am looking forward to more next week.  I’m ready to see where my stories are going!  Right now I”m working on two, not counting a short story here and there, but that may be a mistake.  I should probably focus on one.  The thing is that one is on my phone, while the other is on my PC, so I work on one at home, and one on the go.  So far it’s working, hopefully it continues.

I hope everyone is having a great week out there.  I’m going to let you go now, but feel free to stop by anytime.  I’ll have the coffee, and you’re always welcome to a cup!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that is now hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!

  1. Thanks for the coffee! How awesome that your running is going great! Shoes are so important. I don’t run longer distances anymore, because of a bad ski accident, it’s just too stressful on my injured leg. I can run shorter distances just fine, but somewhere around 5k it hurts, and it hurts for a few days. I usually choose other forms of exercise, to avoid it. I used to enjoy it a lot though. I hope you’re having an awesome weekend!

    1. Thanks! Sorry to hear of your running woes. I love to just go out and run, sometimes long, and though I know the day is coming I hate to think of the time when I can’t.

Great that you have other things you enjoy though! Thanks for stopping by.
