#WeekendCoffeeShare – New Year’s 2018

wp-image-1093036968If we were having coffee, I’d say Happy New Year!, even if it is a bit early for that.  I’ve got us a fresh pot brewed, so help yourself and we can talk a bit of what’s to come.

The new year always brings with it thoughts of new possibilities, opportunities, and of course resolutions.  Now I’m not the resolutioning type, but I do have my goals.  They are just continuations from forever ago, but they somewhat renew on New Year’s every year.  They are to (1) be a good husband and dad and (2) maintain some level of fitness.

This year, I’m adding to that list.  This year, I want to actually finish a book, and then figure out the whole self-publishing thing.  Generally speaking, I don’t mind the writing of whatever, but the publishing part scares me quite a bit.  There’s just so much to figure out, so many platforms to work with, and if you do actually make a dollar or two, how does that even work with the taxes!?  It boggles the mind!

Do any of you have any experience or opinions on self-pub platforms and which is the best?  I would love to hear from you.

So how are you celebrating the New Year?  If you’re headed out to party, be safe.  We are going to see my most favorite Christmas movie on the big screen tonight.  I know, I’m a week late, but that can’t be helped.  One of the theaters around here shows older movies on Wednesdays and Sundays, so tonight is the night.

The movie?  Die Hard of course.  I’m so excited!  We’ll be leaving soon.  Want you come along?  It’s going to be a good time, filled with so much belated Christmas Cheer!

Whatever you’re doing for New Year’s, I hope you have fun and stay safe.  Are you making any resolutions?  Do you have any big plans for 2018?

I guess I let you go.  Until next week, Happy New Year!

#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that is now hosted by Eclectic Alli.  Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!

  1. Die Hard was a great movie! Very cool to see it on the big screen. I’d be curious to know about the publishing process, keep us posted on how it shakes out. Have a safe and happy new year!
