If we were having coffee, I would apologize for missing last week’s coffee share and commit to starting again fresh. Fresh, like this wonderful 8 O’clock Coffee that we’re sipping hot from the Ninja Coffee brewing thing. It’s a great little machine that occupies the space now vacated by the Keurig that once lived on the counter-top.
Speaking of last week’s coffee share, I should tell you that what happened was completely my fault. The weekend went something like this. It was the first weekend off (first day for that matter), in a few weeks. I was tired and not feeling the best, but I had high hopes for the weekend and all that I would do with it. Saturday morning would consist of a run and then the rest of the day I would get lots of stuff done, including my #weekendcoffeeshare.
Well, the run happened. I slept in, but upon waking knew that I did not feel the best. Determined to get out anyway, I packed some water and headed into the great outdoors. It was great! The previous weeks of long work days fell away by the side of the road as I ran (slowly) through the sun drenched day. An hour and 47 minutes passed in 9.3 miles. See, slow, just like I said.
Perhaps, I was a bit too ambitious on my first run back because as good as it felt to be out frolicking freely down both paved and dirt roads, I paid for it the rest of the weekend. My feeling of not too well turned to bad, and all the other things planned for the weekend (including the share) went by the wayside.
But that was then and this is now. I feel better and yesterday only ran 5 miles as time allowed. Today consisted of sprints, tire flips and other random fitness stuff as I prepare as best I can for the upcoming Spartan Race season. It’s going to be a blast!
Other than that, I’m just hanging out, listening to music (Counting Crows today), and sipping coffee. I hope you guys are doing great, and I really appreciate you stopping by to share a cup with me.
