If we were having coffee, at this moment, I would be a bad host. See, right now, I don’t have any coffee, though I wish I did. It would help with the yawns while on the road, maybe. (Don’t worry, I’m not driving!) We would make plans to get coffee at the first opportunity though, and that opportunity will most likely be somewhere at the Biltmore Park Towne Square. That’s where we’re stopping to eat on the way home, so onward to coffee!
That’s right. On the way home. Yes, we’re on the road again. Sometimes it feels like we are on the road more than we’re at home, but that’s fine. We always have fun on the road. We spent this weekend up in Gatlinburg, TN, hanging out with thousands of other Christians for Winterfest 2017.
Winterfest?
Oh, sorry. Winterfest is a gathering of Christians held every year in Gatlinburg, and though I’ve only been to a couple, they’ve been happening for 30 of 31 years, I think. Anyway, it’s a good time. The messages throughout the weekend are aimed at the youth, but they are applicable to all ages. It is an uplifting time with lots of great speakers to hear, singing to partake in, and good wholesome fellowship. And now we travel home again.
Straight home?
Pretty much. We’re stopping at the aforementioned Biltmore Park to eat, and, you guessed it, coffee. (can’t wait) Then it’s back on the road and home. We did some hiking and whatnot on the way up, and that was fun. It did nothing to help this still tweaked ankle to heal, but that’s okay. The views were great, the trails were fun, and I got to hang out on mountain trails with my wife and daughter. I can sacrifice a little healing time for that.
We hiked along mountain streams, through what I like to call goat trails, and up and back down a piece of a mountain. There was ice on the mountain. A good bit of ice,and though I wanted to carry on, it slowed us to a point that in order to keep on schedule, we turned back. That flight down the mountain was a blast though. Bounding down, over and onto rocks, long strides letting gravity pull us ever faster was such a rush.
And I wonder why my ankle still hurts?
Good point. This week though, I’ll ice it and try to take it easy. We’ll just have to see how that goes.
Thanks for reading my #weekendcoffeeshare. It’s been fun! I’ll see ya next week.

This was indeed written on the way home. Posted now that I am home. By the way, we do have coffee, tea, and various other things here to drink. Might I interest you in something. Have a great day, and God Bless You!
Beautiful photos! Gatlinburg is one of my favorite places to visit.

Thank you! It’s getting there. Seems I don’t heal as fast as I used to. 😦
