If we were having coffee, I’d tell you all about my recent trip to New Orleans and all the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells that came along with it. It was a good time, and an experience that I will never forget. Hopefully the future holds another trip to the Big Easy, where I can take my time and do some exploring. This visit was quick, one night, passing through on a work trip.
Have you ever been to Bourbon Street?
Well, let me tell you, it’s wild down there! You’ll see some stuff down on Bourbon Street. Some things that maybe you want to see, others not so much. Same with the smells I mentioned earlier. Some great, others…not.
The coolest thing about Bourbon Street though, is the music. There are some really talented musicians down on Bourbon Street, and you can hear them playing as you walk around. I would love to camp out in one of the small bars down on Bourbon Street and listen to the Jazz and Blues being played live all night.
We spent the rest of the week in Louisiana, but on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain. That lake is a sight in itself. It’s bridge is 23.8 miles long. (the longest continuous bridge over water in the world.) Out in the middle, when you can’t see shore anywhere, it feels like you’re driving across the ocean.
Do you like to travel? What do you like to do when you travel?
I like to run in new places. In 2017, I’ve run in South Carolina, Indiana, Alabama, and Louisiana. Tammany Trace Trail offered the best run from where I was in Louisville. The trail-head I found was in Old Mandeville. Tammany Trace is a 31 mile trail that runs along the lakefront of Lake Pontchartrain. You can read more about it here
.
It is good to be home though. All that wandering about can be exhausting. That’s what coffee is for though, right? Okay, your right, I do need to rest some. Maybe then I’ll be able to stop yawning.
It was great talking with you. Would you like a cup to go?
There ya go! Bring that cup back next week and we’ll fill it up again. See you soon!

Yeah, it was fun. Would have been better if without all the work.
