If we were having coffee, I’d say I’ve been gone too long. I hope that you are doing well. It’s good that we can sit down and have a chat.
It was May of 2016 that I posted my last #weekendcoffeeshare. That was when I pretty well quit blogging and writing all at the same time. Well, maybe not quit. Let’s just say that it was time for a break.
See, I had a writing habit that I was quite proud of. For three years or near enough, I wrote everyday, at least 250 words. Most days more. The theory was I believe a sound one. The more you write, the better you get. After a while though, I saw an issue.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that you shouldn’t write everyday. (If writing’s your thing) What I will tell you is that we are all different, and you have to find what works for you. I was burning myself out. Not taking time to sit back and think about what I was writing. Not drawing. Not doing a lot of stuff, so that I could write.
And the writing was suffering for it. So I stepped away in frustration, and did almost nothing, creatively, since May. Then I started to doodle again. Then a bit of poetry. Now, with the batteries recharged, I’m back and happy about it!
The plan is to write, draw, and live. Then blog here about it.
That’s about it. Thanks for stopping by. Don’t worry about the cup. Bring it back next week and I’ll fill it up for you!
The #weekendcoffeeshare is a weekly blog hop started by the PartTimeMonster blog. Write yours, link it up, and join the fun.
We all need a break some times. Welcome back and good luck sith your writing
