If we were having coffee, then we would be riding together in the truck on the way home from Tennessee. It’s going to be a long trip. As a mater of fact, I’m not having any coffee right at the moment, but when we find a Starbucks, we can surely fix that. I can gaurantee you that that will happen at some point on this trip. If you like, you can get tea or one of those fancy frozen things.
We would probably be talking about the race and just the weekend in general, but mostly about the race. It was a tough course. I know because my daughter and I walked it yesterday, and because I raced it for a grand total of nine minutes before blowing up the bike. Oh well, the bike being broke is better than me being broke, so I’ll take it.
My daughter has more to talk about. She raced the full two hours and came away with a second place finish in her class. She confirmed to me that the course was tough. Now that we’ve exhausted all the race talk, let’s find some food and maybe then that coffee.
It sure is pretty here this time of year. The leaves are changing everywhere you look and everything just looks as if it was taken straight out of a picture book. It’s easy to forget the beauty of the mountains when you don’t see them very often. We have a different beauty down on the coast, and you know what, we don’t ever really think about it. The people who live here in the mountains probably don’t ever notice the beauty that’s outside their door either.
I always look forward to the #weekendcoffeeshare, so I’m trying to do it on the road. There’s a reason or two not to wait until we get home. One is that it will be late, and I’ll be tired. The other is that we don’t have the best internet at home. We have to have sattelite internet at home because of where we live. With sattelite internet comes bandwith limitations and they suck. I didn’t do my normal tuesday post specifically because of them!
We got an email warning just the other day to “watch your usage,” so we have been curtailing ourselves as best we can. That email normally comes late in the month and that’s fine, but this time it came only two weeks into the month and there starts the curtailing. There are things we need the internet for, so all of the unessential things get chopped off. So sorry that I haven’t been as chatty on Twitter and that I missed a post. I’ll try to do better this week, but you know, no promises.
To close, let me say that I’m typing this on a tablet and the normal squiggly lines that pop up under misspelled words doesn’t do that here, so if there are things that I’ve missed, sorry.
As for now, I’m gonna go. If we don’t find food soon, we may hurt each other. Y’all have a great week!

Congrats to your daughter, and sorry about your bike—but you’re right that it’s better the bike than you!

I drove through Tennessee once, a long time ago. I forgot how pretty it is. Thanks for sharing.
