If we were having coffee, we would probably still be talking about the weather and the effects of it. Everything lately goes back to the weather. I just brewed up a pot and yes it is a little late for it, but no work tomorrow, so coffee!
There’s football on the TV. Cal at Utah, right now and though I don’t have a preference on who wins, maybe it’ll be a good game. Speaking of football, my Gamecocks lost another one today. It would have been a tough game for them anyway, but the travel to LSU didn’t make it any easier, I’m sure.
You see, it was supposed to be a home game, but all that rain that happened last weekend still has things messed up. Lots of roads in Columbia are still closed, the stadium has no drinkable water, and students haven’t been to class all week. In short, it’s a mess. So, earlier in the week, the decision was made to move the game, and so the Gamecocks played a “home” game away.
See how everything goes back to the weather.
Time for another cup, can I get you another?
Ok, that’s better. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Unfortunately, many have a long way to go to find any normalcy. Flooding is still very present in some places, even now that the rain has slacked off a bit. A lot of water is still coming from the upstate and creating havoc down by the coast.
In an effort to get away from the weather, we could talk a little about the movies. I could tell you about the movie we went to earlier today, Sicario. Turns out, that sicario means hitman in Mexico. Who knew? I mean, except for everyone in Mexico, right?
Anywho, the movie was good, though there wasn’t as much action in it as the trailer may have indicated. Turns out, there was more drama than action, and that’s fine. The movie was about several government agencies working against a drug cartel over in Mexico. Not to give too much away, but the sicario was working with the government, so all sorts of shadyness was afoot. That’s really all I would be able to tell you about the movie without ruining it. You are going to see it eventually right? Yeah, I thought so. I’ll hush about it.
We could talk a little about writing and this month’s story. I’ve though lots about it, and I think I know what it will be. October, being the month of Halloween deserves something a little dark, and I think I have just the thing. I need to polish it a bit before it’s ready for the public though. It should be up within the next week.
You’ve got to go? That’s too bad. It’s been nice to sit and chat for a while. If you want, I can get you a cup to take on the road with you. Come back when you get a chance, and don’t worry, I’ll have a pot on for ya.
Sorry to hear that the weather is still rather uncooperative in your area and that the flooding continues. We’re all hoping that the waters recede soon, but none more than those who live there, I’m sure.

Thank you. Things are getting better, but it is a long road for many.

Y’all had a lot of water down there. I couldn’t believe some of the images I saw on TV. Hope it finally recedes and goes back to normal soon!
Keep writing!!!!

Yeah, it’s been crazy. Things are starting to get back to normal in a lot of places, and then there are the places still flooded even today. We’re getting there though. Thanks!
